Things I want
14 December 20061. VOTE FOR TIFAUX!
2. I’ve developed a small obsession with Christmas music, which is a problem I’ve never had before. This past weekend I spent an embarrassing amount of money on iTunes working on my mp3 collection. (I later called The Boyfriend, terribly proud of myself, and recited the new songs I had. He started talking about his Christmas music collection and I casually asked him how many Christmas mp3s he had. He replied “297.” Information that would have been useful to me before the iTunes jaunt).
Anyway, the two of us spent a good part of last night looking for an ULTIMATE version of O Holy Night. My requirements for this include vocals (obvi), and a really, really powerful “faaaaaaallllll on your KNEEEEES!” part. We settled on Nat King Cole but I think we can do better. Suggestions?

Josh Groban, embarrassingly enough, does a pretty great version, including the rare second verse with its earth-shattering “Christ is the Lord.” It makes me a cry. On the subway.

Cartman does a pretty kick ass version.

the john williams version from home alone is pretty awesome. children’s choir and all that. it does a pretty rocking FALL ON YOUR KNEES that you can hear right here. i don’t have this on mp3, but if you find it, i want.

I was going to suggest Cartman’s but Kyle beat me. So I will second his suggestion.

I have never been more embarrassed to know you. Well, that’s not true. But anyway. I miss Jew York. I can’t even find frickin candles out here. Or Jews. Either would be helpful in about 24 hours.

Carrie, what about that time in 8th grade when Carly and I both dyed our hair blue? Weren’t you embarrassed to know us then?
Happy Hannuka!! (Is that one of the 18 approved spellings?)

Count me as the third enthusiast for Eric Cartman’s rendition! I love it so much I actually hear Cartman’s voice in my head when any other version plays on the iPod. And if you haven’t downloaded A John Waters Christmas, please do so immediately!

Holy shit, I appear to have started a trend. Which isn’t unusual for me. And, granted, it is a Cartman trend. But still, I’m trendy nonetheless.

Personally, I’m a fan of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir version - very big harmonic faaaaalll.
