the madness continues

20 March 2007

The little brother re: Tifaux Madness.

As much as I want to participate in this event, I can not. You have, probably without realizing it, put me into an extremely difficult position, one I have been desperately trying to avoid for the better part of the last year, namely deciding between my two biggest celebrity crushes, Sarah Silverman and Tina Fey. It would not be so bad, but the fact that you put these two hotties in the very same quarter-final bracket has put such a strain on my mental health since first looking at it, I have no choice but to completely put this great contest out of my mind for the duration of my life. It is just too troubling. I mean, Tina Fey has got those great glasses, but Sarah Silverman has that whole Jewish thing that I love so much – it is just too much for your poor brother to deal with. For me, it would be like choosing between the sun and the moon (actually, bad example – fuck the moon, it is totally useless), so I wish you the best of luck in this pursuit, and beg your forgiveness for my abstaining from the proceedings.

And, in an email sent 3 minutes later:

Also, what the fuck is Fran Dreshcer doing on there?

I concur with the Peej re: Fran Drescher. The only bracket she should be in is the “Battle of the women you most want to punch in the face.” I’m not even sure who to pair her with, so she should get a first round bye.

I just checked and she has received 63 votes. This greatly concerns me about the Tifaux readership.

I haven’t been keeping up on the Tifaux due to trying to buy a house and start a new job, etc, but I have to defend Ms. Drescher. While she’s incredibly annoying, she looks damn good for her age (which is like, what, almost 50?) and has gracefully triumphed surviving both rape and cancer. I wouldn’t watch her tv show, but I’d at least vote for her.
