Mischief Managed
24 July 2007So, I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Saturday was kind of a big day for some of us.
Platform 9 3/4, taking you to Hogwarts via the Glen Rock Public Library.
I didn’t put my robe on until later, so here I just look a little pregnant instead of looking like a wizard.
My Learn How A Book Gets Made table totally beat the hell out of the Arithmancy table.
Being very careful to not look at any of the actual words just yet.
Lots of Mad Eyes came through the line. Just after this group was the 16 year old who asked the illustrator (whose elbow is pictured here) to put her phone number in the book as she was signing it.
The next day, while cruising through Northern NJ, my little brother and I saw a woman reading HP7 while at a stop light. Way to make Govenor Corzine proud! I wish I had a copy of the audio book to pelt her with.
Jack also had trouble getting through the first 600 pages. Likely due to the fact that he can’t read.
These last two I didn’t take, Cheryl Klein did– the Scholastic event had a “Muggle Wall” where you could post messages as you were waiting for the book, and idea that I love, love, love. Particularly these two.
Neville’s going to pull more tail than he knows what to do with after book 7.
On the left: I’m Dumbledore’s man through and through. On the right: The New York Times Sucks! Amen.

That wall was phenomenal. Katie took a whole bunch of pictures, and our favorite was the one that said “Harry roofied my butterbeer–and I liked it.”

I was out of town until Sunday night…and my book was waiting on my porch for me.
Needless to say I read until I fell asleep and then I read all day Monday until I finished.
I was smelly (no time for showers) but satisfied. Thank goodness I don’t have a job or I woulda had to take a sick day.
