in lieu of something real to say

15 January 2008

Here is a super-fun interview with John Green, YA book nuts. I know, it feels weird to have a January go by without him winning some major award. Let’s all take a deep breath and hunker down until Paper Towns is released.

There should be more on this page– there should be a LOT about the ala awards and how I must have had an off year because I’ve only read one (The Wednesday Wars, which blew my mind in it’s fantastic-ness) and how they picked a novel for the caldecott and how I am SO PUMPED that AM Jenkins got a Printz Honor even though I haven’t read Repossessed and how one of my goals for ‘08 is to start keeping a list of everything I read which will probably appear somewhere on this blog at some point if I am feeling ambitious. And I have a lot to say about being happily insanely busy at work and how I’m nervous I’m going to get snowed in in Minneapolis next week, and how I got an email from one of my college girls about trying to get us all into the same time zone at some point in this calendar year and it made me deliriously excited, and how I now know more about kidney infections in cats than I ever thought possible, but I don’t have time for that yet. I miss you guys.

I thought the interview was kinda dumb, then I saw that it was a 14 year old conducting it, and I thought “oh, it’s okay then.” Now I’m wondering if it is, indeed, okay. Though I did enjoy the fact that the Wii came up.
