Alma Mater, Hail
25 September 2008Oh, Luke Russert. You’ve been through a lot this year, and I really don’t want to hate on you. And then you go and film a segment of the Today show at The College of William & Mary in which you say that “the smartest kids in the state” go to UVA. Oh, Luke. Luke, Luke, Luke. What are they teaching kids today at Boston College? Other than when you do something dumb, you can make it better by just apologizing on your blog. Here’s the video– the comment in question doesn’t come until the last segment, so you’ve got to wade through a lot of shots of UVA students with Zac Efron haircuts before you get there.

I went to high school with loads of UVa students, not just one smart one like you did. And I can tell you that right there is bullshit. Because those kids were twats. And that is the rantings of a wee fellow who didn’t even graduate from the fifth best school in his city.
My cousin Mike, who is a very good doctor, and his dad, who is a very good research chemist, are obviously the exceptions that prove the rule. And Jordan.

Ugh. And THEN, in the blogpology, he says that lots of smart kids also go to VT and George Mason. Thanks, Luke. Now we know there are THREE schools in Virginia where smart people can go. It’s too bad we got stuck with such an academically mediocre education at W&M.
