From the Ministry of the Needlessly Obvious & Upsetting

22 December 2008

Brought to my attention by the Fee:

Let’s take a closer look at that CNN headline:

Really, CNN? REALLY??

(In case you are squinting at my iGoogle page to see what news feeds I can’t live without– because my life is that interesting–those boxes are: Pitchfork News {since they know more about my brother than I do}, Amazon book search {duh}, The Forbes.com feed for Target {sales nerd!}, NPR: Books, NPR: News, Business Week, CNN, my Google Reader, Mets News, The WSJ, and my Twitter page. Just out of sight are: Jon Stewart quote-a-day, The Onion, the New York Post, E! Online, TV Guide, and the weather. iGoogle is magical! Everyone should get one!).

That’s it – after months of telling myself I would, I’m finally starting a file of headlines I see during the year that are unbelievable for whatever reason. I’ve found my ur-headline, the master headline from which all others will be wrought.
